The Belly Rub Strategist

Neville loved belly rubs and I loved giving him belly rubs. For me, there was something so irresistibly cute about his beautiful little belly. He very quickly learned that if he wanted my attention all he had to do was show me his belly. It didn’t matter if I was distracted or busy, he’d immediately have my full attention. He learned to use this as a trick to lure me over and then as soon as I started giving the belly rubs, he’d hop up and show me what he was really after. And it worked every single time. He did love belly rubs too, not every belly rub request was a ruse. I’d give him belly rubs and sneak in a few raspberries. It was truly the cutest thing ever.

We’d often have these quiet moments of being on the ground together, existing together as this image shows. He especially loved belly rubs first thing in the morning before we truly started our day.
